I generally love Sigourney Weaver but she was entirely unconvincing as a young Englishwoman in Peter Weir's uneven film. It didn't help that her character was so thinly written that she almost seemed to be an afterthought, but better casting could have helped, and Weaver's usual charisma is sorely lacking here. Wobbly accent, too.
