Is this James Bond or a Soap Opera? 🤔

I understand that there is a significant fan base for Bond. Yet for me he is a figure or artifact of the cold war era which is long gone and also a representative of the romance of England also long gone. Fine if you like him, to me a relic and just another meaningless franchise. Another point I have is take away his sports car, his high tech weaponry, ultra expensive suits etc and he is just another hired killer, The Irishman if you will, a million dollar thug. But once I hear the theme and the costs more than most entire films, opening credits, I will forget all that and watch the rest.

As long as things make money and entertain people nothing else matters.

I think it looks pretty good so far. The title is lazy but I think this could be fun.

I think this is a test to see how people, and by people I mean the fans, will react to a female 007. Basically a expensive marketing experiment. We all know this is Craigs last go as 007 so what better way to replace him than with a black female. Shit if she was Muslim and trans fluid it would hit all the PC check marks. Being a fan of the franchise, Ill be going to it of course, not to mention my love Ana de Armas is in it as well, probably not enough screen time!

Will there still be a Bond Girl or is it a Bond Boy now?

Ummm its Bond Women now, cause you know girl is derogatory for some fucking unknown reason.

I suspect the Nubian Bond woman will be dead within 15 minutes and the "crisis" will be over.

Really? I dont know, I think they might try to pass on the torch to her at the end of the film. Or maybe even Lea Seydoux character.

I don't think they're that stupid.

Do you remember when Halle Berry was going to get a spin off? Common sense prevailed.

Seems highly unlikely if you actually watch the trailer the OP posted...

I posted the trailer and watched it and think (hope) they're being deliberately misleading.

Personally I don't have a problem with there being a Bond spin off, so long as the character is well written and that spin off is not shit. If it is filled with patronizing wokeness then it will be shit. And remember she is not a female James Bond exactly, she is a female 007. A spin off female character from his world. She's a female James Bond in the same sense that Furiosa is a female Mad Max or Harley Quinn is a female Joker.

To be honest I'm more concerned about the rumored neutering of Bond's character.

“Bond is male,” she said. “He’s a male character. He was written as a male and I think he’ll probably stay as a male.

“And that’s fine. We don’t have to turn male characters into women. Let’s just create more female characters and make the story fit those female characters.”

A Jinx spin off would have been terrible, but the spin off talk started with Michelle Yeoh's Wai Linn. Now that I would have liked to see!
