Agreed, no offense to James Wan (FF7) and F.Gary Gray (FF8) who are very talented filmmakers in their own right, but Lin's sequels were some of the better of the FF franchise! In fact he REVITALIZED a franchise that was dying...

James Wan's contribution to this franchise is priceless.
He took a franchise that was already faltering after 2 movies and gave us an underrated journey to Japan, a reunion of the "original parts", the introduction of The Rock and a trip to London that also (in the end credits) introduced The Stath!
Each movie getting better reviews and/or box office than the one before.
