The staircase scene (spoilers!)

Anyone who has seen this film knows that the scene that makes the movie is Herbert Marshall's chilling demise as he tries to crawl up the stairs while having a heart attack. Bette Davis withholds the emergency medicine, and the look in her eyes will strike fear into the heart of any innocent viewer.
Okay, okay, enough with the corniness. Point being, it's a most mesmerizing and unforgettable segment, in the midst of an excellent film. While it isn't my favorite Bette Davis performance, it is my favorite Bette Davis movie, mostly for two things: Teresa Wright's debut performance, and Herbert Marshall, playing the kind and gentle Horace Giddens. As a matter of fact, because of The Little Foxes, I will be seeking out more of his movies in future, as I have been searching for new actors to check out!

Watched one of his rare performances as a bad guy Sunday night, 'High Wall' (1947).
As for 'The Little Foxes', it is one of my fav Davis films.

Hmm, I believe I've heard of High Wall, but have yet to see it. Do you recommend?

It's ok. It's a typical 'noir' from the 40's, nothing really surprising (at least to me).

I don't know where you live but if you get the 'Movies' channel, it is airing Thursday the 24th at 9:00 am.

Thanks, I appreciate it. But I think I can probably borrow it on DVD at some point from a relative who is a huge film collector.
