Mot i Brøstet is a Norwegian situation comedy created by Tore Ryen. It originally aired on TV 2 from 22 January 1993 to 8 December 1997 and has since aired in reruns on various TV2 channels. It was the commercial Norwegian sitcom, and remains popular with fans, even fifteen years after its end. It was released on DVD in 2007.

A spin-off, Karl & Co, aired on TV 2 for three seasons from 1998 to 2001, spawning a total of 63 episodes. Another spin-off, Karl III, aired on TV 2 in 2009, but was cancelled after only 12 episodes due to negative reviews.

De serie bestaat uit tien afleveringen van zo'n veertig minuten waarbij je gaandeweg meegezogen wordt in het verhaal. Al hoewel alles zich richt op het hier en nu, speelt onderliggend feitelijk alleen de vraag 'wie is verantwoordelijk voor de dood van het meisje, nu twintig jaar geleden?'. Dat maakt dat je gaandeweg de serie zelf probeert te achterhalen wie er verantwoordelijk is, maar telkens weer in onzekerheid wordt gebracht omdat niet alleen veel mensen destijds een motief hadden, maar ook in het hier en nu problemen hebben in de relationele en/of zakelijke sfeer.

De entourage van de overname van het familiebedrijf en de ontwikkelingen daarin spelen een rol, maar zijn achteraf enkel om het verhaal body te geven. Pas in de slotaflevering komen de belangrijkste zaken bij elkaar en krijg je als kijker duidelijkheid over hetgeen er zich daadwerkelijk destijds heeft afgespeeld. Overige zaken worden slechts ten dele uitgewerkt zodat je als kijker ook zelf mag meebepalen hoe een en ander zal aflopen. Dit maakt het een integer geheel waarbij geweld met name gevoeld maar niet gezien wordt.

Voor mensen die - net als ik - van Scandinavische series houden is dit een bijzonder fraai geslaagde serie. De serie zal geen vervolg krijgen en dat maakt ook dat je als kijker een keurig geheel voorgeschoteld krijgt zonder losse eindjes op plaatsen waar je die niet wil hebben (zoals de schuldvraag).

"Hver gang vi møtes" is a Norwegian reality television show broadcast on the Norwegian TV 2 television station in 2012. It is structured in similar format to the Swedish series "Så mycket bättre" that had been launched in 2010.
