改編自台灣第一代實業家林燈的故事，講述林燈如何展露經營奇才，將事業版圖逐步擴大，還熟稔與日本人做生意，更在1950年，台灣歷史最嚴重的通貨膨脹時代，民心動蕩、政權更迭的時局中，試圖打破重重阻礙，在公營事業轉民營化的經營權大戰，奮力一搏欲爭取董事長寶座的精彩鬥智過程。
