Better to wonder how he'll fare in Nomis than MI6. Doubt MI6, like most actioners, is known for the acting. Nomis doesn't seem like a heavy drama but still interesting fare.

As I said, I think HC will do okay delivering short phrases and a line. If he stays with his natural accent, he will be okay. It's just that he can't do any more than that.

Thing is though, he was pretty decent in 'MFU' and that was a lead role. Sure he lacked charisma but his acting wasn't bad at all. The accent he used was kind of a 'hybrid' English/American one which was quite convincing. Also, I think he really benefits from a director who can pull out a half decent performance from him. Without one he is shockingly bad. And I agree that his role in MI-6 is being built up as more than it actually is.

I wonder if any director had ever advised him to get an acting coach because it's obvious he's not even a competent actor.

So far the director who has dominated his life for the past few years is, ie Zack Snyder, has been more obsessed with how he looks (his muscle toning) and has given more instructions for him to do physical training. And so far, HC has continued on with that trend of focusing more on physical training that taking more lessons in acting (look at how his social media shows more of him working out in various gyms). In past interviews, he implied he didn't take much value on formal acting lessons as he believed in "learning on the job", and so forth... A bit hard to do when you are not hired in a lot of different acting roles, so the opportunities to "learn on the job" are also limited.

Well, Guy Ritchie even had trouble working w/HC. That's probably why he didn't have him in King Author. On this link, he politely tells HC he is coming off like a bad actor. He tells HC it's the accent, and it is in parts, but it's also the delivery of the lines. Who knows how many takes it took for Guy to get a decent performance from HC?

Well, I know Tarsem did the exact same thing w/his actors on Immortals. They had to get their pics taken a lot and sent to Tarsem to make sure the transformation was going the way he wanted. I'm pretty sure that is what Zach was doing.

With that said, it is up to HC to focus on his "craft"; I don't feel it is the director's job to train an actor on how to act.

Yeah, but at least Guy told him he was crap lol. Lesser directors seem to be letting him get away with terrible acting. With 'King Arthur' Guy had a better option in Charlie Hunnam so of course he wouldn't choose Henry over him. With 'MFU' Henry was pretty much a last minute replacement. And yeah, maybe it was exhausting for Guy to even get that much out of him. HC has very little acting talent and it takes a good director to maximise that. Without one he isn't capable of even putting in a passable performance.

Wow! That was a great find.. so even Ritchie was noticing that his accent wasn't so great. I wonder why he has never used a language coach that helps actors perfect accents if they need to. I was reading an interview on Alexander Skarsgard and he spoke about how he had to take lessons with some speech/language coach to ensure his Swedish accent doesn't show up while doing American TV shows. (Not sure if his English accent was that convincing in Tarzan though.)

He did for MOS, but even I could hear a slip-up and noticed they kept his dialogue short.

Now, I'm taking this with a grain of salt, because there is a lot of work from a written script to a filmed one.

Anyway, according to Armie, there is a MFU script (sequel) being written.

Interesting. I know it's perhaps unlikely due to its low performance but I for one am interested to see if it pans out. Besides there's films that didn't do well yet still get sequels. The Pink panther starring Steve Martin comes to mind. And aren't they planning a Fantastic Four one?

Very true. And yes, I've also heard 'Fantastic Four' is getting a follow up.

As the commentators from the Box Office Board I used to hang out with whether a film did 'well' or 'not', doesn't really depend on just how much the movie made on the box office (movie ticket sales). These days movies make even more money from TV, home video, streaming rights and for some like those Disney and Marvel movies from tie-in merchandising. As bad as FF4 was, the FF4 is part of the Marvel universe which everyone knows is just doing so well right now... FF4 crossing over to the Avengers or Spider-Man as the case in the comic books has a lot of potential.

There is also the question, how low will the budget of the movie be to make it? John Wick was a success because it cost so little to make but it made a lot of money. Some sequels get made because the budget are kept low enough.

He's not as bad there, but it's weird that it is hard to see his mouth move. I think they dubbed in a voice and required him not to move his mouth as much, because his lips were moving way more than that during MOS.

By the way, this character seems to have been written for an older man.

Poetist, I knew I wasn't the only one who noticed his face not moving while talking! Surprised he wasn't given more trust to do more like in MFU and MOS. Or maybe its the direction?

One more day to find out how he is in the movie!
