Plot details are still under wraps but sources say Cavill would play some sort of a right hand to the head of Cruise’s unit.

What is he supposed to do in that role? Hand over top secrets -- take a bullet?

Interesting... He could be a long lost bro or long lost son??? smile_cat

I recall in an article about Man From Uncle, it was mentioned HC auditioned for the role of Ilya, but didn't get it because Tom Cruise was still on board to play the role of Napoleon Solo and the director didn't want the two main characters to look too similar. Of course, Tom Cruise backed out and then HC was tapped for the role.

HC must be very pleased with this role. Apart from it being a potential blockbuster, he'll be starring with the actor he aspires to be, the actor who by name alone places bums on movie seats -- Le Tom Cruise.

Henry and Alec Baldwin should do a comedy someday.

Now that he's cast in MI, Dany should start rounding up candidates for his next beard/gf.

This is really great news. Clearly signing with Dani has done him the world of good. He's barely had any non Supes roles the past few years and now he lands two in quick succession. Working with someone like Tom is huge too.

Dany would love to take the credit, but she's just the manager. CAA is the agency that makes the deal, but Dany will take the credit anyway.

It is on paper, but let's not get it twisted. Tom is the stah. There is not going to be a lead in his pics that will outshine or even be noticed. Dustin Hoffman and Jack Nicholson stole his Oscar, and Cuba was smart to play 2nd fiddle very well to gain an Oscar.

That's three strikes and everyone else is out. Tom learned his lesson, but it's not as if MI6 is every going to be Oscar material. Still, Tom's not falling into the practice of slacking off to let someone outshine him every again, and history proves this.

What was posted was that HC plays a good guy for Tom's crew. I wonder was this Alec Baldwin's role, and if so, why didn't he want to come back?

@ToniTurnyne it's very doubtful Tom's ego would let him play the role of father to a 33 year old actor. For vanity's sake, maybe a 3 year old actor. Even though he has children in real life very doubtful he'd be willing to age himself to the audience or perhaps set someone else up for eventually replacing him. Indiana Jones with Harrison Ford and Shia LeBuef comes to my mind here.

@ Poetist, I didn't realise she was his manager. I should say then that his new 'team' are doing a hell of a lot better than his old one already. And it's early days.

Oh, I completely agree. I meant that it's good he's even getting the opportunity to breathe the same air as someone like Tom lol.

I'm just wondering if they will let HC keep his natural Brit accent for this role? Simon Pegg does.

Maybe he'll have a similar role as his Tudors co-star Jonathan Rhys Meyers'. Didn't he keep his accent for the role? Haven't seen the movies.

I didn't even know Jonathan was in one. If he spoke in his normal accent then hopefully HC does too. Have never seen any of the movies either, only the odd clip here and there.

Henry has switched from CAA to WME who also reps Dany's ex Dwayne Johnson. Dany probably suggested switching to an agency that would get him more work. WME signs Superman

Virgo: Dany probably suggested switching to an agency that would get him more work

Dany is lining up HC to the same people -- her friends. HC also has the same lawyer as Dwayne and of course manager.

CAA lost a lot of their agents and stars to other agencies (WME and UTA). HC is just one of those actors, and since he hired Dany as his manager, it seems not a big surprise he'd move to WME since Dany seems to have close ties with this company.

Who else is disappointed in the new JL trailer? It doesn't get me pumped. Cyborg CGI looks terrible. As much as I like Jason Momoa, he doesn't seem like the right Aquaman. Dialogue was blah. At least I won't go in expecting much.

Phoebe those trailers all blend into one for me. There is doom and some solitary moment on a glacier. I think they did that for the MOS trailer.

It's so rinse and repeat.
