中学三年级生的初夏。在经常去的图书馆借的写真集里看见了濑户内海的照片，枫想起了去世了的父亲。从父亲去世开始，枫就变得非常喜欢去拍照。同班同学千寻给那样的枫鼓励，但是自己却先哭了起来。那天回到家，弟弟香愉快地看着父亲拍的照片。因为看了会悲伤而收起来的照片，哪一张都是快乐的、不想忘记的瞬间。在家里看着怀念的温柔的照片的枫，注意到了某些事…。

枫来到了竹原的城镇有1个月了。青梅竹马的塙薰，与新朋友麻音和乃理惠，一起去登朝日山，与她们成为朋友的枫今日也像往常一样，大家一起上学。然后不久迎接竹祭的某天，大家照常在玉响咖啡店喝茶。因为枫去了塙薰家，所以知道了第二天塙薰的家人都外出了，家里还剩塙薰一个人。听到这个消息的枫，提议大家一起去开住宿会…。

今天四人照常去了玉响咖啡店吃午餐。吃了大人气的玉响午餐后，乃理惠兴高采烈地缠着香。有人从阴影中凝视着那样的乃理惠…。麻音和乃理惠在回家的路上感觉到了被人盯上了。在那里出现的是，名为篠田小町的小学生。监视着乃理惠的小町对香很在意的样子。后日…。在玉响咖啡店，乃理惠再次遇到了小町。小町发起了香更喜欢的甜品的比赛。乃理惠和小町的甜品战争，现在拉开了序幕…！

今天开始放暑假。鼓起胸膛期待着回去的四人。在那之中，据说麻音要回去老家大崎下岛。因为枫的祖父也在下岛，所以大家决定去麻音的老家的旅馆里玩。坐着从竹原港到大崎下岛的船，拜访麻音的父母经营着的旅馆。在帮旅馆的忙的麻音出来迎接，于是大家在岛上悠闲地走着。途中，在某个建筑物前麻音停下了脚步。进去里面后，麻音陷入了沉思。在这里麻音好像有着什么回忆…。

今天是汐入的友人·三次千寻来竹原游玩的日子。枫欢欣雀跃的来到竹原站等待。枫从高中搬家离开为止，从小学一直就在一起的两人。久违的再会后，千寻依旧是那个容易流泪的女孩子。枫和千寻发现互相都没有变，而感到安心。对着塙薰等人介绍千寻以后，枫开心地与大家一起做着竹原的向导，但是不知何故千寻稍微有些不安…。

——何时的故事。麻音总是在秋天的高台上独自一人读书。和父亲走散了的枫，来往高台游玩看景的乃理惠和塙薰，在不知不觉中，孩子时代的四人聚集在一起。成为朋友之前有点美好的昔日故事。

——某天的故事。麻音从学校回家的路上，遇到了同班同学的乃理惠。与往常不同的是乃理惠一点精神都没有。得知情况以后摆出了一副失落的样子。很难与人传达感情而烦恼着的两人，不可思议地洽谈了起来。乃理惠和麻音成为朋友的契机昔日稍微有点美好的故事。

憧憬的道路。在竹原很多观光客聚集在这热闹的节日中。枫来到竹原以后非常期待这个节日。在童年时代来到这里的时候由于途中睡着了，所以没能享受这节日气氛。那样的枫和塙薰等人为了让雨停下来，大家开始制作晴天娃娃。在顺利进行竹灯祭的准备的街上，一边拍着照片一边向枫打着招呼的人…。那是她憧憬的摄影师·志保美理穗。在这众多人聚集在节日中，大家情绪高涨起来。那时，雨逐渐下了起来…。

憧憬的摄影师·志保美理穗开始在竹原的城镇上生活。一天早上，枫在hoboro店前遇到了理穗。大家听到理穗在hoboro寄宿的事情后都吃了一惊。理穗拍了客人和店主奇莫的照片和拍了其他各种各样的照片。听到理穗最近不拍天空的照片的枫，总觉得有点寂寞。看到这样的枫，理穗邀请她一起去知茂的前辈开的咖啡店“卡萨布兰卡”…。

——桃子大人在悠闲地睡着午觉，自由轻松的城镇里走来了一个神出鬼没的不可思议的猫。那样的桃子大人，事实上在夜晚竹原的城镇维护着小镇的安全和景观，各种各样的东西保护着。某日，这个平和的小镇里，据说农田的作物被谁破坏了的事件…。

——晚上的hoboro里有一个来访的客人。那是偶尔来拍竹原的照片的大学生·飞田志麻子。找到座位后就点了大量hoboro烧。碰巧在场的堂郷在吃的方面很要强，于是两人不断地吃，直到吃不动为止。由于吃得过撑，在玉响咖啡店被服侍着…。次日，从一个赶过来的同学·保志真奈美听到了事情的缘由…。

塙薰周末要去找百花香的材料，顺便邀请大家一起出门。但是，周末三人都有各自要做的事情。听到这个消息以后，塙薰不知不觉陷入了沉默。自己想做的事是什么…。和大家不同的是自己没有目标…。第二天，从大家的口中听到了邀请自己去参与她们各自的活动的声音，但是塙薰哪里都没有精神。周末，塙薰在家里想着问题的时候，被姐姐纱代美邀请去秘境探险…。

薰想做的事。那就是和大家一起度过。那样的薰企划着“我们的展会”。大家将各自展示自己的东西，想到这里大家都无比地期待。在此之中，麻音说出自己想表演的不是口哨演奏会，而是朗读剧。从自己口中说出的想法，是从以前就开始努力着想做的事。迎来“我们的展会”之前，麻音想试着在御手洗的老家举办朗读会作为练习。朗读会的内容也是自己原创的。但是，发表会即将到来，故事还没来得及编出来…。

“我们的展会”。展现大家现在的成果的展览会，地点在旧笠井邸。在镇上边走边派发着传单，忙碌地做着会场的准备。为了这一天的到来而努力的四人似乎哪里有点紧张。想变得积极进取的枫搬到竹原以来，转眼已经过去了一年。和大家度过，温和而又充满了很多珍贵的东西的日常。有着各种各样的回忆的“我们的展会”终于开场了。但是，四人在迎来的第一次大晦日中，稍微有点情况…。

枫搬到竹原后，经历了各种各样的事。与塙薰等人成为了朋友，千寻来竹原游玩，美好的事物每天都能发现。夏天也逐渐接近尾声，枫从塙薰那里受到了烟花大会的邀请，听到大家都会穿着浴衣去参加后，不知为何没有了精神。枫想起了，以前和千寻一起去烟花大会的时候，约定了来年穿着浴衣一起去看竹原的烟花…。

A year has passed since Fu moved to Takehara, and Fu and Kaoru reminisce about their reunion at that time and all the things that have happened since. As Fu becomes determined to be more aggressive this year, she receives an encouraging text from Chihiro. The next day, Fu states that she wants to start up a photography club when the new school year begins, receiving support from her friends, including Chihiro's classmate, Tomo.

As Fu worries about becoming a club president, Komachi brings in a magazine featuring a picture of Fu, submitted by a girl named Kanae Mitani. Dougou helps Fu get her photography club approved, assigning new teacher Mutsuko Shimokamiyama as the club's advisor. After eventually finding their new club room, Mutsuko informs Fu that Kanae is a student at their school. Following a congratularoty party held by the others and an awkward meeting with the other club presidents, Fu hears from the photo shop owner about how her father entered a lot of photo contests in his high school days, encouraging Fu to try her hardest. The next day, Kanae herself briefly appears before Fu at her clubroom.

After Kaede has hurriedly left the clubroom the other day, Fu's nervousness gets the better of her when she tries to promote the photography club to the freshmen. Meanwhile, Kaoru and the others encounter Kaede again, noticing that she has a camera. After receiving some enouragement from Sayomi and her mother, Fu decides she should try and convince Kanae to join the photography club. The next day, after Dougou asks Fu to help out with an upcoming cherry blossom festival, Fu chases after Kanae and invites her to the clubroom. Kanae explains that she had wanted to form her own photography club, but didn't have the confidence to start one herself. Moved by Fu's confidence and pictures, Kanae decides to join the photography club as an official member.

Fu and Kanae are struggling to come up with a theme for their festival presentation, Dougou has plans to turn it into a musical performance. To give them some inspiration, the gang visit some cherry blossom trees that were planted for Kaori and Sayomi when they were little. As the festival gets underway, Fu searches for a tree from one of her father's photos. However, Dougou ends up injuring his hands, leaving him unable to perform for Fu's presenation. Despite this, Fu and Kanae work of the courage to perform by themselves. After the festival, Kou leads Fu to the trees planted in their names, having been lead there by Momoneko, where Fu finds the exact spot her father took that photo from.

Following a suggestion from Mutsuko, Fu and Kanae decide to enter a cherry blossom photography contest, but struggle to find any cherry blossom trees they can photograph. Hearing this, Sayomi takes the group on yet another trip. Whilst stopping to eat, Kanae talks about how she got into photography which led to that photo of Fu she took. Although they eventually come across a group of cherry blossom trees, Sayomi takes them even further to an even bigger cherry blossom tree. Despite Mutsuko inevitably forgetting to enter them into the contest, Fu and Kanae are proud with the photos they've managed to take.

Fu is visited by Riho, who brings along a travel planner named Harumi Kawai, who was an old acquaintance of Fu's father from before Fu was born. Wanting to learn more about her father, Fu goes with Harumi and Shihomi to Onmochi to help take pictures for a tour guide. Along the way, Fu hears from Harumi about how her father would always deviate from her plans and find fun things by going with the wind. They later stop at a bed & breakfast inn run by an old couple who tell Fu more about her father, who gave them advice about turning their house into a B&B. Later that night, as Harumi gives Fu a much belated congratulation of being born, Fu thanks her for helping her connect more with her father, inspiring Harumi that she should be more open and connected with her tours.

Fu and the others travel to her hometown of Shioiri, where they meet up with Chihiro and are introduced to Tomo, who is excited to finally meet Fu. Whilst taking a tour around Shioiri, Fu is filled with memories of her father. Later that night, the girls attend a summer festival where Fu recalls entering a sparkler contest when she was younger, prompting the group to enter themselves. As Fu makes it as far as the finals, she is reminded more of her father as Sayomi takes a picture of her.

Chihiro comes by to Takehara so she can watch their fireworks festival, swinging by the Photography Club to meet Kanae and Mutsuko. Whilst thinking about what to do for the festival, Fu and Chihiro recall a secret place Fu's father told them about when they were younger. The next day, Riho offers Fu and Kanae to have their photos shown in an exhibit. After Fu takes various photos of the festival preparations, Sayomi leads everyone to an ideal viewing spot, which Chihiro believes to be the secret place Fu's father talked about.

As the town prepares for the bamboo festival, Fu meets a man named Nozomu Natsume, who was one of her father's classmates. Upon hearing Nozomu give some harsh critique on Fu's photos, Kanae can't help but express her love for Fu's photos. Later that day, Fu and Kanae run into Riho, who gives them advice on how the technical skills of photography shouldn't affect what's most important to the photographer. After encountering Nozomu again at the okonomiyaki shop, the girls take him to see the bamboo lanterns, where he talks about about how Fu's father always put showing love in photographs over any technical prowess. Before he leaves, Nozomu asks Fu to take a picture of him.
