In the small town of Pregau, 16-year-old Rosa Hartmann dies in a car accident. Her friend Gregor was in the passenger seat and has been in a coma since the accident. The policeman Hannes Bucher blames himself for the accident, since he had subjected the two to a traffic check. Now he's trying to cover up the clues.

Inspector Hannes Bucher is assigned to his own case. He lies and deceives a lot of people to keep the truth from getting out. Hannes' nephew Sebastian senses that things are not right.
