EN BRO FÖR MYCKET är en övertygande krigsfilm som på ett storslaget sätt och med en minutiös känsla för detaljer återskapar ett av de mest katastrofala slagen under andra världskriget. I filmen får vi se noggrant rekonstruerade strider på autentiska platser och den har en av de mest imponerade rollbesättningar vi någonsin sett med bl.a. Sean Connery, Anthony Hopkins, Sir Laurence Olivier och Robert Redford. Man har med precision och detaljrikedom kunnat återskapa spänningen och dramatiken bakom en av de största militära satsningarna i historien. I november 1944 var de allierade säkra på seger efter den lyckade invasionen av Normandiet och inledde med stort självförtroende Operation Market Garden. Detta var en riskfylld plan med målet att få ett snabbt slut på kriget genom att invadera Tyskland och förstöra de fabriker som fortfarande producerade till krigsmakten.

In this short film Bert Haanstra gives his vision - from the water – of a tranquil Holland. During filming he held the camera upside down and afterwards put the images ‘up right’ again in the film. By doing this, we see the ‘usual’ waterfront, but transformed by the rippling of the water. In this way Mirror of Holland became a modern looking experimental film. However this did not devalue the Dutch sentiment regarding waterfronts that are so trusted to so many.
