"Liebe Momo!" - das war alles, was in einem Brief geschrieben stand, den Momos verstorbener Vater hinterlassen hat. Momo und ihre Mutter sind gerade von der Großstadt Tokio aufs Land an der japanischen Seto-Inlandsee gezogen. Sie leben auf einer Insel, in einer wundersamen Stadt, die auf allen Seiten von idyllischen Häusern und Naturlandschaften umgeben ist. Aber auch als Momo ein neues Leben beginnt, fragt sie sich weiterhin, was ihr Vater in diesem Brief wirklich schreiben wollte. Eines Tages entdeckt sie auf dem Dachboden ein altes Buch, woraufhin sich allerlei seltsame Geschehnisse abspielen...

Onkel Boonmee holt seine Verwandten und Freunde zu sich auf sein Landgut im Norden Thailands. Er will Abschied von ihnen nehmen, da er bald an einem Nierenleiden sterben wird. In seinen letzten Stunden gesellen sich zu den Lebenden auch die Geister seines jetzigen Lebens und seiner früheren Leben. Dann bricht die Gruppe in den Dschungel auf, um einen Sterbeplatz für Boonmee zu finden.

Crocodile Dreaming is a modern day supernatural myth about two estranged brothers, played by iconic Indigenous actors David Gulpill and Tom E. Lewis. Separated at birth, they have different fathers.
