Zhrzená Delilah, sestra Semadar, která se do krásného urostlého Samsona mezitím zamilovala, přísahala mladému muži za jeho nevědomou zradu pomstu. Samson se navrátil ke svému lidu a počal oslabovat Filištínce. Čím byla jeho síla větší, tím byla porážka soupeřů nevyhnutelnější. S kouzelnou silou darovanou Bohy byl Samson zcela neporazitelný. Nešťastná Delilah se proto rozhodla lstí vylákat ze Samsona tajemství jeho síly a předat ji svému lidu.
