Βασισμένη στα αρχεία του Πατρός Γκαμπριέλε Αμόρθ, αρχιεξορκιστή του Βατικανού (στο ρόλο ο βραβευμένος με Όσκαρ Russell Crowe), η ταινία Ο Εξορκιστής του Βατικανού ακολουθεί τον πατέρα Αμόρθ στην έρευνά του για τον τρομακτικό δαιμονισμό ενός αγοριού, η οποία καταλήγει στην αποκάλυψη μιας συνωμοσίας που το Βατικανό για αιώνες προσπαθούσε απεγνωσμένα να αποκρύψει.
