「少女革命」。縱然TV版完結篇留下無窮的餘韻，但劇場版並非TV版的續篇，所有設定都作了大幅度變更。監督幾原邦彥在製作劇場版時，對於電影的本質深思熟慮許久，針對TV和劇場的特性，減少突發演出的場面，希望讓觀眾更容易理解作品的意涵。畫面比TV版更華麗且超乎現實，但是相對地，故事更現實而殘酷。

　　劇場版探討到少年與大人、夢想與現實的衝突。編劇榎戶洋司言道：「這是根據青春的價值觀作出的作品。」所謂青春並不是多麼愉快的事物，但其中仍有無可取代的快樂，所以才覺得懷念。榎戶秉持這份對青春的價值觀，創造令人為之動容的劇情。

　　劇場版中，歐蒂娜小時後不曾遇見過王子，想成為王子是由於其他更強烈的理由，男裝打扮也比TV版更為徹底，只有在決鬥時才會把頭髮放下回復成長髮，動作和語氣也顯得更男孩子氣。另一位女主角安希的造型則變成長直髮，不戴眼鏡。性格變得極其開朗活潑……另外，安希與曉生兄妹之間的關係，也變得更為悲壯殘酷。
