　　平安夜，几个洛杉矶人由于种种巧合而发生了一系列错综复杂的故事，产生了相互影响且出人意料的关系。一方面，罗丝(杰西卡·贝尔饰)在利益熏心的拉里(帕特里克·斯维茨饰)经营的一家脱衣舞夜总会工作，她拼命工作，试图尽可能多赚钱用来治疗自己濒临死亡的儿子，而在殡仪馆工作的杜利特尔(埃迪·雷德梅尼饰)则非常爱慕她。另一方面，犯罪集团组织的首领(克里斯托弗·森饰)正试图劝说自己的前雇员杰克(雷·利奥塔饰)不要对其集团的在职人员进行报复。 　　另外，原本是牧师的查理(福里斯特·惠特克饰)有自杀倾向，但他与一名变性的性工作者(阿莱让德罗·罗曼罗饰)之间发生了出乎意料的故事。

故事萌发的前传是1998年刚凭专辑“Aquemini”声名鹊起的OUTKAST产生制作与专辑同系列的电影，MTV认可了这个创意但要拿当时名气更大的Missy Elliott 和Busta Rhymes代替OUTKAST出演。自己的电影作了人家嫁衣两兄弟士气遭到打击。随后他们再构思的《爱德怀德》，终于在两人如日中天的时候面世了。

布莱恩·巴伯撰写这个故事的初衷是为了在被饶舌和街舞塞满脑子的年轻人心中培养他们对爵士时代的感情，让他们知道嬉哈、R&B是怎么从威灵顿公爵、Cab Calloway这些天才的作品衍生出来的；OUTKAST推动了嬉哈音乐的发展，自然也要担负起教育年轻人娱乐不忘本的责任，影片也瞄准了OUTKAST的广大粉丝，而为了在教育前先把目标观众抓在手中，OUTKAST同时担任影片音乐监制，亲自操刀所有曲目创作乃至编排，也正因为二人在音乐水准上精益求精，影片才一再修改背景音乐而姗姗来迟。

Documentary look at doomed male prostitutes in Prague, ages 15 to 18, who troll at the public swimming pool, the train station, a video arcade, and a disco. After the boys talk about how they got in the game, the camera follows them to the home of Pavel Rousek. Under the name Hans Miller, he makes gay porno videos, primarily for German distribution. Intercut with a movie shoot chez Rousek is an interview that follows him to his day job at a morgue, where he performs an autopsy as he talks about his work. The sex is without protection; the boys are without family. They talk about their bodies and souls, money, their sexual orientation, AIDS, their dreams, and death.

Issac, a young reclusive mortician who inherited his stepfather's mortuary business, meets a friendly waitress, Cassi. The two create an instant connection and after a night of terror, they pursue a revenge murder together.

A doctor and a mortician have teamed up to do re-animation experiments on corpses using gangster money loaned for "remodeling." When they can't pay it back, the Mafia guy sends his nephews to work at the funeral home to keep a watch on the debtors, but the nephews end up helping in the search for new bodies, and mayhem ensues when some undesirable types are re-animated.
