Korraga leiab ta end mingis pea peale pööratud maailmas, kus sookollidele peetakse jahti, Ruuben Tirts on kuningas ning Shrek ja Fiona pole kunagi kohtunudki. Nüüd peab Shrek ise enda suure eksisammu heastama, sest vaid nii on tal lootust päästa oma sõbrad, muuta maailm endiseks ning võita tagasi oma tõeline armastus.
