Прича о породицама које се скривају у подземним одајама за време нацистичке окупације Београда. Уз помоћ пустоловног профитера они производе оружје за покрет отпора. Овај посао је настављен и после рата јер им њихов "доброчинитељ" пушта фиктивне извештаје о немачким победама како би одржао подземну производњу и даље се богатио. Он успева да убеди и свог најбољег пријатеља да остане у подземљу како би могао да само за себе задржи девојку коју обојица воле. Пролази двадесет година и за време једног подземног венчања неки од преварених нађу излаз у горњи свет. Иако је 1961. година, они верују да су нацисти још на власти јер су се обрели на снимању филма који приказује немачку окупацију. Неки од ових патриота наћи ће се и у борбама у Славонији 1991. године, а међу њима и два бивша пријатеља.

Дотрајалим аутобусом фирме „Крстић и син“, за Београд креће група путника. Свако од њих има неодложне разлоге да што пре стигне у престоницу. Пролеће је 1941. Дан уочи немачког напада на Југославију. Аутобус креће из забити. Због непредвиђених околности путовање ће се одужити, иако је полазна станица од Београда удаљена свега стотинак километара. На путу, путници се свађају и сукобљавају због рата у Европи. Наговештај будуће катастрофе се наслућује. Стари, растурени аутобус са својим необичним и помало откаченим путницима комична је слика једне епохе у распадању, крај једног света који ће нестати у пламену и експлозији. И поред почетне нетрпељивости, путници се на крају уједињују, из чега ће произићи отворено насиље над два Рома музиканта.

Филм је прича о судбини деде и унука који живе у опустелом српском селу. Деда је намеран да обнови цркву и у њу врати попа, и тако оживи село, а унук је једини ђак у локалној школи. Али када у село дође просветна инспекција и затвори школу, дечак остаје без будућности, а његова учитељица без посла. Видевши да на селу „нема ‘леба“, старац, који је „осетио“ да му се ближи смрт, шаље унука у град. Даје му краву и заветује га да је у вароши прода, од тих пара купи икону и нађе девојку.

Дечаку су у граду украли краву, али он је послушао деду и нашао девојку, чија мајка преко дана ради као васпитачица у вртићу, а ноћу као проститутка. Када је осетио да мајчин макро мерачи и његову љубљену, младић предлаже девојци да оду на село. Стижу у дечаков завичај и тамо затичу виталног деду који се зближио са учитељицом...

The introvert Russian girl Nadia goes on holiday to Belgrade, inhabited by extrovert Serbians. She lives according to a plan, while the Belgraders live for joy. At first, Nadia is involved with the local guy Nesha, and then with his relaxed, semi-vagrant way of life. She takes the impulsive decision to give up her dull job and Moscow for the sake of love, freedom and Belgrade. Both this love, and this freedom must undergo the test of reality, which is always more difficult than our expectations.
