杰夫、卡伦、保罗、玛茜和伯特是5名即将毕业的大学生，他们决定在毕业之前大玩一场。于是他们选择了进入深山老林去度过最后一个学生时代的暑假。

在行驶了很长时间以后，他们的汽车上了一条颠簸崎岖的山路，驶向了一个偏远的小屋。他们决定在这个密林小屋里面露营。就在他们来到小屋后的第一个晚上，一个血肉模糊的人试图想要靠近他们，这是一个常年生活在森林里的人，被一种不知名的食肉细菌(或是病毒)感染，露出腐烂的肌肉和白色的骨头，像一具行尸走肉。为了自卫，保罗用火将那个人点燃，这才逃过了一劫。

可是灾难并没有就此结束。第二天，大家惊奇地发现卡伦的身体开始变得腐烂。他们这才意识到卡伦已经被病所感染。为了避免自己受感染，其余四人决定将卡伦单独锁在小屋里，然后他们到附近的小镇求人帮忙。但是，小镇的居民也无能无力。当他们回来的时候，卡伦已经只剩下一具白骨了。而此时伯特也发现自己被感染了，惊恐的他连忙开车逃命去了。同样，杰夫为了不受到感染，狠心的他抛弃了自己的女友玛茜，自己一人逃进了森林。

After the mayor uses a potentially dangerous substance to protect the local plantation, the lakeside town of Mountview, in California, is attacked by a lethal species of large cockroach. After some of the town's inhabitants are killed, the mayor enlists the help of eccentric pest exterminator General George S. Merlin in order to prevent further harm to the local dwellers.

ANGELA TUCKER was involved in a horrific car accident that killed her mother and younger sister. The accident left her mute, a side effect from post-traumatic stress. She has issues remembering exactly what happened in the accident. Throughout the film, she sees glimpses and moments of the accident in flashbacks. Her memory of how or why the accident happened is non-existent. She has also experienced slight amnesia, subsequently forgetting several details of her life before the accident. Angela's friend take her on a trip to woods to help her rest and the group soon discover that the woods aren't as friendly as they thought they might be... As a group of locals turn the friend's weekend getaway into a savage bloodbath...
