Ele e os seus melhores amigos Marty, a Zebra (voz de Rui Oliveira), Melman, a Girafa (voz de Bruno Nogueira) e Glória, a hipopótamo fêmea (voz de Leonor Alcácer), têm vivido num abençoado cativeiro, com refeições a horas e um público que os adora.
Ano 2035. Após um vírus assassino assolar a Terra, os sobreviventes refugiam-se em comunidades subterrâneas, húmidas e frias. Cole oferece-se como "voluntário" para viajar até ao passado e conseguir uma amostra do vírus, com a qual os cientistas poderão fabricar um antídoto.
