19세기 베트남, 14세 소녀 마이는 아름다운 계곡을 따라 꽃단장한 배를 타고 간다. 그녀를 기다리는 것은 나이가 훨씬 많은 지주의 셋째 부인이 되는 것. 홍등이 밝혀지고 무사히 첫날밤을 치른다. 눈치가 빠른 마이는 다른 부인들과도 잘 지내고 둘째 부인의 딸과도 자매처럼 지낸다. 성에 눈을 뜨면서 자신의 정체성을 찾아가는 성인이 되어가는 한편, 빨리 아들을 낳아 자신의 지위를 인정받고자 한다. 머지않아 순조롭게 임신을 하고 태교를 하던 중, 중매결혼을 앞둔 장성한 첫째 부인의 아들과 친언니처럼 살갑게 지내는 둘째 부인이 서로 연인관계라는 사실을 알게 된다. 마이 자신도 둘째 부인에게 연정을 느끼게 되는데…. 몸종 간에도 허락 없이 임신을 하면 처벌을 받는 시대를 배경으로 성장과 금기, 자유와 극단의 선택에 이르게 한 다층적인 감정을 아름답게 표현하였다. 단순히 오리엔탈 에로티시즘으로 보게 된다면 이 영화가 드러내고자 하는 여성의 성장이라는 오늘날에도 살아있는 메시지를 놓치는 일이 될 것이다. California, 1840s. Wealthy landowner César de Echagüe, secretly acting as El Coyote, the legendary masked hero, continues his fight against the injustices and abuses suffered by the Hispanic population at the hands of the US Army.

A generous doctor is aghast that the population of a small island is being oppressed and mistreated, but is seemingly unable to do anything about it, until the arrival of a young woman and the death of one of his friends prompts him into action.

Chronicle Caste War in Yucatan held in the nineteenth century, where the land and the people were the property of the landowners, who called themselves " divine caste ". On one hand, General Salvador Alvarado organized the revolution; on the other, the landowners hire Colonel Ortiz Argumedo to organized the defense of their autonomy. Don Wilfrido, one of the masters, do not hesitate to send his son to fight to maintain their wealth and privileges.

Aurelio Rodríguez is released from jail, and tries to start a new life by marrying Paloma and working his land. But the local landowners, the brothers González, interfere with his plans.

The story begins in a small rural village in Ladimirevci, Eastern Croatia in 1943, where a land owner Sima is helping the Partisan Movement and the official Ustasha regime in order to save the life of his son Beneš, who is enlisted in the German army. Sima doesn't want to let his son fight for the wrong side any more, and doesn't want to give him to the Partisans either, so he hides him in his attic for the time being. The story is interwoven with episodes of Sima trying to muster a beautiful stallion - Sokol - who only answers to his son Beneš and clearly doesn't like his old man.

California, 1848. An invading army has defeated the few opposing forces and the territory has become part of the United States. Don César de Echagüe, an old gentleman, begs his son César to return from Europe, confident that he will know how to confront the oppressor.

The film features Fernandez himself as a character named Rogellio Torres. The lion's share of the footage, however, is devoted to the romance between Esperanza, granddaughter of a common laborer, and Jose Luis Castro, the firebrand son of a landowner. Joining a revolutionary movements, Castro is disowned by his father, but Esperanza remains loyally by his side. Later on, Castro's father is killed by outlaws; in seeking vengeance, he sacrifices his own life, while Esperanza carries on his revolutionary work with their young son in tow.

A wealthy landowner haunted by the spectre of his dead mother has a fling with a beautiful fugitive who bears a striking resemblance to his missing wife, who may have been murdered.

After falling for Alicia, greedy and powerful Mexican landowner Carlos has her fiancé thrown in prison on a bogus charge. To trick Carlos into releasing her man, Alicia teams up with her Aunt Delfina and tries to convince Carlos that he's a ghost.

A main agenda of the prewar farmer's movement was struggle against landowners. Prokino also considered this as their prime concern. The main title sequence and the latter part of the film have unfortunately been lost. While we cannot see its entire structure, we can still get a glimpse of it from this surviving short.
