ひとりで本を読むことが好きな鈴原守は、幼なじみの千代野綾に片思いしていた。綾は親の都合で1週間後に東京へ引っ越すことが決まっていたが、間近に迫る17歳の誕生日をこの街で迎えたかったという綾の本音を知った守は、綾や友人たちと古い工場に潜り込み、そこで綾の誕生日までの7日間を、大人たちから逃れながら過ごそうとする。しかし、そこで不法滞在者のタイ人の子どもと出会ったことから、守と綾と仲間たちは、思いがけない事態へと巻き込まれていく。
