Hum lebt in einem Flüchtlingsheim bei Hamburg. Er liebt Filme und finanziert sich seine Kinobesuche, indem er Fundsachen von Kinobesuchen im Asylheim verkauft. Eines Tages lernt er Anna und ihre Freundin Ida kennen. Bei einem gemeinsamen Abendessen in der WG der beiden finden sie heraus, dass sie alle die Liebe zur Musik teilen. Anna und Ida können großartig zusammen singen und Hum vermittelt ihnen den Kontakt zu seinen Freunden, die in einer Band spielen. Zwischen Hum und Anna entwickelt sich eine zaghafte und berührende Liebesgeschichte. Beide fiebern dem ersten Auftritt der Band entgegen, in der Anna mittlerweile singt. Doch kurz vor dem Auftritt soll Hum abgeschoben werden. Weder seine Liebe zu Anna und zur Musik noch seine Fantasie können ihn vor dem Alltag eines Flüchtlings bewahren.
