Valt Aoi è un giovane ragazzo, in possesso di un Bey chiamato Valtryek, che mira a partecipare al torneo nazionale per diventare il miglior Blader del mondo. Prima di poter affrontare tale competizione dovrà vincere in tutti i tornei locali battendo il gran numero di rivali che troverà sul suo cammino. Fonda così il Club di Beyblade della Beigoma Academy insieme all'amico Rantaro Kiyama detto "l'artista", un ragazzo vanitoso che, pur non manifestandolo apertamente, ammira profondamente l'impegno di Valt. Nel club c'è anche Ken Midori con il bey King Kerbeus, Daigo Kurogami con Dark Doomscizor; successivamente si uniranno Wakiya Murasaki che usa Wild Wywron, e Shu Kurenai, uno dei 4 blader supremi, con il bey Storm Spryzen. Gli altri supremi sono Zac il sole nascente, Xander Shakadera e Luì Shirosagi, il re del beyblade.
Ginga Hagane (Gingka nell'edizione italiana) assieme a Pegasus, il suo beyblade, decide di viaggiare intorno al mondo per vendicare suo padre e riprendere L-Drago: il bey proibito rubato da Doji e Ryuga. Durante il suo viaggio finisce per fermarsi in una città in cui si farà degli amici (Kenta, Madoka, ecc.) e dei rivali.
