A história é sobre um conhecido escritor, Dries, que após ser abordado por três músicos inválidos pedindo para que seja o baterista da banda deles, aceita. Excêntricos e psicóticos, um dos integrantes é quase surdo, o outro não pode mover um braço e o terceiro é um estuprador assassino, lentamente Dries começa a gostar de envolver-se no mundo de seus companheiros. Autêntico niilista sarcástico, acha que pode encontrar nisso um bom material para escrever seu próximo livro. O problema é que por não ser inválido, começa a manipulá-los, o que provoca os piores instintos dos outros, ao passo que a banda prepara sua única apresentação, em um festival de rock local.
