Das Problem: Voraussetzung war eine Geschlechtsumwandlung. Und was nach dem Pfusch vom Tage übrig blieb war ein "angry inch". Und so ist Hedwig weder wirklich Frau, noch ein ganzer Mann. Und auch kein ganzer Rockstar, weil Tommy Gnosis, ihr bereits erwähnter Ex, mit ihren Songs Karriere macht und ihr nur die schäbigen Lokale bleiben, um abzurocken. Doch das tut sie! Hedwig rocks!

A "DIY" portrait of the New York music scene, the film is a patchwork of footage of numerous rock acts performing live, at venues like Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, the dive bars of Greenwich Village and, of course, CBGB.

Man verlor die jungen Popmusikhörer, die einfach nur Fun, Glamour und auch Provokation gegenüber der älteren Generationen wollten. So entstand Anfang der 70er Jahre mit bunten Kostümen, dicker Schminke und eingängiger Popmusik die kurzlebige Musikrichtung des "Glam Rock". David Bowies Kunstfigur Ziggy Stardust, Gary Glitter, Roxy Music, T. Rex, Sweet, aber auch Elton John und Queen, waren prominente Vertreter, bis der Punk Rock zum neuen Ventil der Jugend wurde.

The Nottingham Tapes is the second concert video released by the Finnish glam punk band Hanoi Rocks. The first video released by the band was All Those Wasted Years, recorded at the Marquee Club in London. As stated in the title, this video was shot at the Nottingham Palais in Nottingham England. The video was shot on April 23, 1984, almost eight months before the death of the band's drummer Razzle. The video features songs that would later be released on the band's next album, Two Steps from the Move, such as "Underwater World", "Don't You Ever Leave Me" and the cover of "Up Around the Bend". During the performance of the last song of the set, the cover of the Ramones "Blitzkrieg Bop", vocalist Michael Monroe and Razzle switched places, so Razzle sang and Monroe played drums. While playing the song, fans jumped on-stage, and bouncers had to come and throw the people off the stage.
