"Nevyhrážaj" je paródiou na niekolko Afro-Amerických filmov, napr. "Boyz N the Hood", "South Central", "Menace II Society", "Higher Learning" a "Juice". Hlavný hrdina, Ashtray, sa vracia do mesta, kde vyrastal a stretáva sa s svojím otcom a kamarátmi z basketu. Deje sa tu však kopa čudných vecí - Ashtray je starší ako jeho otec, babička jeho najlepšieho kamaráta je neviazaná stará dáma, ktorá viní svoje výstredné dieťa z toho, že nie je dosť tvrdé.
Rozprávačom spletitého príbehu, točiaceho sa okolo ukradnutého veľkého diamantu, je neúspešný boxerský promotér zvaný Turek, ktorý sa k divokému kolotoču udalostí priplietol so svojím komplicom Tommym vlastne náhodou. Ukradnutý diamant má odovzdať kuriér Franky americkému šéfovi AVIM. O drahokam však majú záujem ďalšie gangstri a zlodejíčkovia, medzi nimi predovšetkým bezohľadný ruský zabijak Boris Britva, černošskí prevádzkovatelia záložne Vincent a Solomon a nakoniec i nemilosrdný gangster a organizátor nelegálnych boxerských zápasov Kruťas. V neprehľadnej hre o drahocenný lup zohrá významnú úlohu aj írsko-cigánsky boxerský šampión Mickey, ktorého podivnému dialekte len málokto rozumie. Niet divu, že pri tomto počte účastníkov v pomyselnom ringu v tomto zápase čoskoro nejde o víťazstvo, ale o holé prežitie.
