미 중부의 전형적인 시골마을 미들타운에 사는 농부 롤프는 토요일 아침 그의 농장에서 서까래를 덮고 있던 까마귀들의 공격을 받는다. 같은 시간 미들타운의 경찰서장 웨인은 이에 대한 보고를 받는다. 그 후 24시간, 세계로부터 격리된 것 같았던 미들타운의 주민들은 까마귀들과의 생존을 건 사투를 벌인다.
