يتناول العمل قصة حياة مجموعة من رجال اﻹطفاء، في قسم مكافحة الحرائق بشيكاغو، والصعاب التي يواجهونها يوميًا، بالإضافة إلى علاقتهم ببعضهم البعض، والتي يشوبها العديد من التغيرات.
