洛基回到費城後，驚覺連年征戰，元氣大傷若不退休恐有性命之虞，再加上理財不當，財務上亦出現危機，他變賣一切回到老家，由於自尊受損，深覺無顏面對江東父老，雖有人欲贊助他重回拳擊場，但因妻小極力反對而作罷，在此同時年青的湯米請求訓練他，洛基答應當其教練... 不料，湯米成名後忘恩負義，背叛並嘲弄洛基，使洛基再度面對重大的挑戰。
拳擊手魯賓卡特（丹佐華盛頓飾）的拳風有如狂風暴雨般，為他博得「颶風」的威名。在他可望拿下世界中量級拳王頭銜的前夕，卻在一樁紐澤西酒吧三人喪命的槍擊案中，和一名拳擊迷被捕，最後還被謀殺罪起訴。 之後，卡特被叛三個無期徒刑﹑終身監禁。在獄中，卡特為了表示自己的清白，拒絕穿上罪犯的囚衣，並多次上訴，但全數被駁回。在屢試屢敗的情況下，卡特逐漸灰心，不再報任何希望，並出了一本表明心志的自傳。他的自傳感動了一名年輕人，於是再年輕人的幫助下，他得以上訴至聯邦法院，經過訴訟之後，颶風卡特被當場釋放......
茶來伸手飯來張口的一子（安藤櫻 飾），是個寄居家裡、不修邊幅的啃老族。某日，因故和妹妹二三子（早織 飾）吵架後，一氣之下帶著行李離家，並在百元商店打工。總算自食其力的一子，在經常經過的一處拳擊所，看見了練拳擊的業餘拳擊手狩野祐二（新井浩文 飾），認為自己一輩子都不可能戀愛的一子開始暗戀祐二。而祐二也常到一子工作的商店買香蕉，兩人關係逐漸拉近。一子因為前往觀賞祐二的拳擊賽，亦對拳擊萌生了興趣。
在百元商店裡和一子一同工作的店員野間明（坂田聰 飾）對一子有了好感，追求一子未果後，竟將一子強行拖往賓館，並侵犯一子得逞。深受打擊的一子，因祐二的安慰，兩人展開同居生活。有了工作、戀情亦順利的一子，開始改變自己，人生看似有了曙光；卻在此時，祐二開始移情別戀。氣憤的一子回想起開始產生興趣的「拳擊」，於是將怒火全部發洩在練拳擊上，並立志要在拳擊賽中得勝。
比賽當天，全家皆來觀戰並幫一子加油，想要證明自己的一子，最後是否能擊倒對手......？
