物語はこのA-TECに転校生・霧羽ナギサがやってくることから始まる。
創業者一族の名を冠するこの男は、先行技術開発部部長に就任するやいなや、A-TECがこのまま高コストのお荷物部署であり続けるようならばメンバーをリストラし、部署を解散させると宣告する。
