Whinielle never actually got permission from his Mom to enter the tournament which was a requisite for legal entry!
In the novel (based on the real life events) Whinielle forges his mom's signature on the tournament permission slip!
Of course Whinielle is a known forger for also signing Miyagay's name on the crapshack lease and dooming him to debt and bankruptcy for the rest of his life!!
There you have it folks! Whinielle and Miyagay not only stole a belt, but forged Lucille's name on the tournament application so his entry was ILLEGAL!
Whinielle never actually won any tournament to begin with because his entry was null and void!
And in the second tournament, Whinielle wouldn't have gotten that $HIT wimpy "buy" to the final round because he never actually was the defending champion!
Poor Whinielle suffered that torture and psychotic emotional breakdown on the mat and was humiliated in public for nothing!

Brilliant deduction by Cruisin' once again, he is forever at the top of his game. Coupled with a stolen "black belt", this is one of the biggest hoaxes in cinematic history.

First, the third film was not based on a true story, I do not remember him forging her signature in the book, but I will try to confirm that later. The rest is just hyperbole. Miyagi himself specifically stated he wanted to open a bonsai shop. The only thing he didn't want was Daniel spending his college tuition on it. You're seriously trying too hard here.
