I was chuckling away to myself watching this on repeat last night. Watch closely the terrible arrow firing from Dutch here:-

It's ridiculous! The arrow barely limply makes it out from the bow...
Compare this with the stiff, erect shot Rambo manages to volley off:-

Why was Dutch so flaccid?

Give the guy a break, man. He'd been chased all day, dragged off a cliff, covered in mud, not a meal in sight, and he had to make all his weapons from twigs and rocks. And the only woman for hundreds of miles is long gone. Plenty of guys couldn't raise their arrows and get them off properly under those conditions.

Yep, total plot crap. A crack commando at the top of his game, at the moment of truth, undetected, positioned on higher ground, poised to vanquish this otherworldly foe... and he misses?
These kinds of specialists don't miss these kinds of shots...except to follow a script that demands more minutes, more setbacks to overcome, and some opportunity to snatch victory from apparently certain defeat.
While it remains a favorite popcorn flick of mine, this is one of those scenes that always gets to me.
