Were they really named "unrealistic"? That's funny considering how many things futuristic movies get wrong. Real World already existed so I have a hard time believing that Edtv was considered "unrealistic".

it was released one year after Truman Show, not really that innovative, just watched them in succession

you can throw into the mix also Wag the dog from 1997 and Mad City from same year, so actually this was already like 4th movie within 2 years bashing the media/TV
