So at the end, Chen agrees to surrender as long as they school is spared. He walks out of the school to be faced with a firing squad. Behind him are the survivors of the school, the police inspector and the Japanese consulate and then Chen charges the firing squad and does some spectacular jump kick to which we get a freeze frame and we hear the firing squad going off. Surely most of the people behind him were hit. This has to be one of the most weirdest ending in a revenge flick. He cuts a deal to spare the school then gets them killed anyways. In all honesty, this may be due to poor film directing rather than reckless story telling. The shot should have been Chen turning a corner before charging the firing squad.
