No it should not be re-released because it is an infamous deeply racist film that depicts black african people as eye-rolling and grimacing characters, thereby legitimizing the colonial powers' ideology that they represent civilization. Mr. Steven Spielberg does not understand anything about political/economic reasons of violence. He made a film about the destruction of the jews by telling the story of more of 6 Million people killed by germans and their alliances and the heroe is a good german. The heroe is a good german? The only film of his I really love is Jaws, although I really dug E.T. as a kid. I never made it through this one from start to end.

Sugarland Express is the one I love. But Jaws is not bad.
