吉幾三の唄「俺はぜったい！プレスリー」をヒントに、青森県五所川原の平和な村での恋と騒動を描く。脚本は、「男はつらいよ 寅次郎頑張れ！」の朝間義隆、「〈分校日記〉 イーハトーブの赤い屋根」の梶浦政男、植村信吉、三人の共同執筆、撮影は「坊っちゃん(1977)」の竹村博がそれぞれ担当。
