When I first saw this I didn't really like it. It was marketed as a comedy but it is anything but. It's a drama about being at the crossroads of life, you either go on as you've always have or you accept the change that has come your way.

For Jonas it's the idea that religion isn't just a means to make money, it can change lives and he has to accept that perhaps there is a higher power.

For his sidekick Jane, she has to decide to settle down for a chance of love or continue on the road.

For me, this is Steve Martins best dramatic role. He plays an alpha male and does so convincingly.
