This honestly bothered me the entire film, haha. General Zod had facial hair. They could have got away with Superman having a beard in this film.

Same here.
I mean you could forgive him for not shaving after being a bit dead.
Alternatively the other film he was shooting could have used make up and fake facial hair - or he could have been allowed the 3 days to grow it back...
It's a symptom of how badly managed by the studio the DC films have been - 3 days downtime vs millions of dollars of digital effects that don't work... it's a no brainer isn't it?

His face looked like play doh. I'm just surprised people liked this film more than Batman vs Superman. I still can't get over how bad the CGI looked for such an expensive film. You can definitely tell the studio butchered this film up and then tried to save as much money as possible with all of the extensive reshoots. It seems like every scene with Superman was a reshoot. I am curious what Snyder's original cut looked like.

Me too.
I have a feeling that he was playing the long game - that letting him finish the Trilogy as he saw it would pay off with the evolution of the characters ending up where a lot of fans wanted them to start at.

I never got the hate for s v b. I saw it twice in the cinema. I loved the score too.

I was just saying in this world they created Kryptonians sport beards. Even Russel Crowe had a beard. Who thought it would be a good idea to make his face look like play doh?

Weird since Superman didn't appear until the last third of the movie. Except for that short mobile phone scene at the very start. Do you mean to say that the one minute of Supes bothered you that much?

He was in the film at least a half hour and the CGI on his face was consistently bad. What do you mean 1 minute?

The movie's runtime is 2 hours. He was in the last half hour. How can you say that this honestly bothered you the entire film? He wasn't in the first 90 minutes so how can he have bothered you then?

I think the moustache issue hightlights how crazy Hollywood can be! I dunno how accurate this is but I read online that Cavill was contracted to keep his moustache for MI 6 so I'm guessing had Warner Bros shaved off his moustache the studio would end up in up in a legal battle with Paramount. 😁

jomar, if you have even bothered to read anything else I have posted you will see that is not the sole reason I disliked the film. The CGI face did bother me whenever Superman was on screen.

i get where @nolesjs17 is coming from. my jaw actually dropped during that mobile phone scene. it was shockingly bad cgi and it took several minutes for me to put if out of my head...and was the first thing that came to mind after the movie was over. for me that opening cgi sums up the overall tenet of this film, which was sloppiness.

One of the worst tennis matches I've come across on this site.
But yes the CGI'd face was terrible.
