The setting of the film may be in the Western United States, but I'm not too sure it has the typical characteristics of the genre..

It's also about cowboys looking after livestock in the wild whilst set in the West. I don't see how it's less of a Western than the likes of other modern setting films such as Hell or High Water and The Rider which are both listed under the Western genre (which I agree with being Westerns btw). I'd call it a Drama/Romance/Western.

I agree. In my opinion, the cowboy keyword is more than enough.
