לתומק יש קריירה מבטיחה ככתב חדשות בטלוויזיה, אישה אוהבת ותינוק בדרך, אך גם אבא סכיזופרן. כאשר הוא מקבל עידכון על מצבו של אביו מבית החולים הפסיכיאטרי, תומק מחליט לנסוע אליו ולחדש את הקשר שניתק לפני שנים. הניסיון לעשות זאת לא יהיה קל, כאשר תומק ימצא את עצמו במערכת יחסים שנמצאת על הגבול שבין הנורמאלי למטורף.

Tomek, 30 ans, a fui la province pour tenter sa chance dans la grande ville. Il mène désormais une vie de reporter télé et vient de fonder une famille lorsqu'il reçoit un étrange message de l'hôpital psychiatrique de sa ville natale. Son père s'y trouve. Contre son gré et l'avis général, Tomek décide de se rendre sur place alors qu'il n'a pas entendu parler de son père depuis des années. Il se retrouve alors impliqué dans une relation entre la folie et la normalité, qui le pousse à repenser sa vie entière...

Tomek leads a comfortable life as a TV anchor and family man when he receives a troubling message from the psychiatric hospital in his hometown: his father, whom he has not seen in years, has just been admitted. Against the advice of friends and family, not to mention his own better judgment, Tomek returns home to face the man he hardly knows. After a failed, guilt-ridden attempt to sell his father’s apartment, Tomek decides to make up for lost time. Kidnapping his aging father from the hospital, the two embark on a vacation to the mountains in an effort to restore some semblance of a relationship.
