The hitchhiker was probably my favorite segment from Creepshow 2. The dialog and writing was reminiscent of the original film. The score was great also.

Yeah the score was definitely a high point, really gave it an adrenaline boost. I think this is my favorite segment as well for the reasons you mentioned. The Raft is awesome too.
I think most people favor "The Raft" because it's simple, direct, and shocking. I also happen to love monsters, so that plus The Thing in the Crate from Creepshow 1 are my favorites. Come to think of it, they could sure use a new entry. (And I wish they'd f***ing get on the Trick 'R Treat sequel already!)
I'm with you AlienFanatic, though I think we're gonna see a SHOW before we see another MOVIE anytime soon. Article here
And TrT2 is still afloat...once Michael Dougherty is completely wrapped up with Godzilla 2 he'll likely switch gears to TrT2..its developed a HUGE fanbase (for a movie that didn't even get a theatrical release) so I don't doubt WB is gonna press the gas on this one.
As cliche as it sounds, The Raft was my fav from CS2 as well, the concept of being stuck on the raft overnight is a scary thought on its own, compunded by some unknown sludge with intelligence ready to eat you....can't beat it. 'Ol Chief Wooden Head was a simple revenge story (not very scary at all) and The Hitchhiker, though good, annoyed me, only because Lois Chiles annoyed me with her constant talking to herself...definitely FEELS Creepshow enough (something you'd see in a thought bubble in a comicbook), but maybe it was just Lois' acting that bugged me! Barbara Eden was originally cast (from Bewitched fame)...in keeping with all the TV Folks in CS1 & 2, this might've made the story better...but alas, we'll never know. Hey, but that's just MY opinion (so be nice).

Holy crap, thanks for the link! I love Nicotero's work. I put him and his KNB shop up there with Baker and Bottin in terms of practical effects. I know he does The Walking Dead, but I never watch it. His older work is what draws me to him. Let's hope it's really sinister, bloody, and packed with REAL practical effects!

Apart from that line, I thought the whole segment was kinda bland. The Raft was the only good part of the film.

Also funny. You hear that George? That's twenty five dollars a pop.

Hitchhiker was great, I always thought of all three tales it recaptured the feel of the original film the most. The Raft is my fave, though.

I thought the Hitchhiker segment was good as well, my favorite is the raft...but you can't beat that line, "Thanks for the ride lady." I love it!
