In einem Fischerhafen aus dem 19. Jahrhundert ist der Kapitän der Komquot besessen davon, den großen weißen Wal Dicky Moe zu fangen. Seine Besessenheit verunsichert seine Crew so sehr, dass sie alle das Schiff verlassen. Kurz darauf findet der Kapitän Tom auf der Suche nach Essbarem im Hafen, schlägt ihn bewusstlos und nimmt ihn an Bord. Tom glaubt zunächst, dass er auf eine Kreuzfahrt geht, aber der Kapitän beauftragt ihn bald damit, das Deck zu schrubben.

In un porto, il capitano di una nave è ossessionato dalla cattura della grande balena bianca, Dicky Moe; la sua ossessione spaventa così tanto il suo equipaggio che tutti abbandonano la nave in preda al panico. Poco dopo, il capitano trova Tom in cerca di cibo al porto, lo colpisce, facendolo svenire, e lo porta a bordo. Tom crede in un primo momento che stia andando in crociera, ma presto il capitano lo costringe a mettersi al lavoro. Tom, mentre lavora, vede Jerry sistemare una sedia a sdraio fuori dalla sua tana e decide di infastidirlo. Jerry a sua volta si vendica facendogli sporcare il pontile con del catrame. Dopodiché Tom cerca di catturare Jerry in diversi modi, ma ogni volta il tutto finisce per ritorcerglisi contro. Alla fine Tom cade in mare e il capitano avvista Dicky Moe, così gli spara contro un arpione. Jerry intanto aiuta Tom a risalire sulla nave dandogli una corda, che in realtà è legata all'arpione...

在一个古朴宁静的海边小镇，不远处的海中心停靠着一艘老式的帆船。船上面色苍白的船长正大发雷霆，他踱来踱去，骂声不止，发誓要抓到那条凶猛非常的大白鲸（Dicky Moe）。水手们战战兢兢，生怕成为大白鲸或者船长的另一个牺牲品，于是纷纷弃船而去。与此同时，饥饿的汤姆正在码头上寻找食物，结果被船长抓住充当临时船员。没有任何办法，汤姆只得按照船长的命令清洗甲板，偏偏遇上了捣乱的杰瑞，不由得令他的工作多了许多的障碍和麻烦。

Le capitaine trouve Tom à la recherche de nourriture dans le port, l'assomme et l'emmène à bord.

Tom croit d'abord qu'il va faire une croisière, mais le capitaine le met bientôt à travailler à nettoyer le pont...

In a 19th century fishing harbor, the captain of the Komquot is obsessed with catching the great white whale Dicky Moe. His obsession unnerves his crew so badly that they all desert the ship. Shortly afterward, the captain finds Tom searching for food in the harbor, knocks him out, and takes him aboard. Tom believes at first that he is going on a cruise, but the captain soon puts him to work scrubbing the deck.
