Noel Hiragi, eine junge Frau, führt ein recht langweiliges Leben. Ihre Mutter schickt ihr eines Tages unerwartet einen alten Schrank. Erst als sie von der Arbeit heimkehrt, stellt sich heraus, dass dies keinesfalls ein gewöhnlicher Schrank ist. Er beherbergt nämlich sechs kleine Personen, die ihrem Besitzer dienen. Von nun an ändert sich so einiges im Leben von Noel...

独自生活的上班族小柊，一日收到母亲从老家寄来的一个巨大的橱柜。自从这个破旧的橱柜来到小柊的家里，就接连发生了一连串神奇的事情：抽屉里堆满好吃的零食，早餐莫名其妙的做好，衣服被叠得整整齐齐……原来这些“天上掉下来的馅饼”，都是住在橱柜里面的座敷童子：胖胖儿的大五郎、古灵精怪的次郎吉，还有阿正、半平，以及温柔美丽的由纪跟阿妙。这六位座敷童子是侍奉柊木家历代的安人（掌管家中各种大小事务的女主人）。小柊跟他们建立了深厚的友谊。

아파트에 거주하는 회사원 노엘에게 부모가 보낸 옷장. 그 안에서 차례차례로 아이들이 나타나 큰 소동이 벌어진다.

Hiragi est une jeune Office Lady (employée de bureau, femme active) tout à fait normale et donc légèrement désordonnée se laissant un peu aller. Un jour sa mère lui envoie une vieille commode, mais ce n'est que plus tard qu'elle se rend compte que cette commode est le repère de sorte de lutins destinés à servir les jeunes femmes de cette famille.

The mother of an office lady sends her an old dresser. It's much too big for her small apartment, and the receiver is confused on what to do with it. One night she falls asleep after having a few drinks and wakes up after hearing strange sounds. She sees a child's figure by the table eating some rice crackers just before it slips into the wardrobe, but the wardroebe appears to be empty... Thus her life with six spirit children begins.
