"Yes, little brother." grabs him by the shoulders to let the audience know they are brothers.

"How long have I known you for? I was with you when you first started."

Ok, that's not the way it happened but...serious eye roll. Blah blah blah, not the exact lines of dialogue but I'm not surprised to hear that this movie required re-shoots, but to the tune of $15 million? I found trivia on wikipedia that said that Warner Bros. pulled this movie from the original release date due to the negative reviews and released Batman vs Superman instead. Man, that studio seriously seems like it can't win anymore. They produced some fantastic 80's stuff but nearly 30 years later....

Anyways, acting is pretty bad. Gerard Butler doesn't seem to care anymore, he was once a poor man's Mel Gibson but now is just...something else. Jim Sturgess seems pretty clued into the fact that the movie is s*it and gives an adequate enough performance to fully through. Abbie Cornish gets some cool stuff to do. Andy Garcia and Ed Harris...SMH. Mare Winningham has a brief cameo, if you can call it that.

The music wasn't anything to write home about. The special effects, I suppose they weren't too bad but considering this came from one of the creators of Stargate and Independence Day, you'd expect a little bit more (not knocking the effects team, you have to work with what you have).

Giving this half a star out of 5 simply because you can't give it a zero.

I wish it qualified as one of those so bad it's good movies, but there's zero cheese factor to it and it takes itself way too seriously.
