I loved this one but what the heck happened at the end of the last story? Was that the haunted samurai in the well? I assume that was a well, maybe it was just a big pot of water. Was it the author/narrator? What was he doing in the well? Was it supposed to be a reflection? It didn't look very good if so. Did the author try to drown himself? Was it a ghost? Was it the undead haunted samurai? I can't make any sense of it!

Відповідь від Patrick E. Abe

You are supposed to come to your own conclusion(s) about what happened to "the ace storyteller." But if you need some sort of closure, let me suggest something. A crafter/craftsman can get so caught up in an assignment that he/she "experiences flow," where the outside world fades away. You may have seen/heard of people who get "lost in their work," but the storyteller of "In a Cup of Tea" just "took a trip into 'The Twilight Zone." (And, like "Dr. Sam Beckett" of "Quantum Leap," this was a one way trip.) Was that good enough?

Yes, I agree with Patrick, well stated. That's how I saw it. I thought all four segments were fantastic ghost stories, masterfully directed and conveyed. The way he used sound and lighting to change a scene, literally transforming the characters before your eyes. The impressionist painted back drops, the wardrobes. Everything was just brilliantly done. 10/10
