Discuss The New Mutants

Not a good sign. It got pushed back after test screenings:

Reshoots after a disastrous test screening aren't always a bad thing even if it means delaying the release for a year. Be positive!

I agree with Gus. Also, it's February of '19, which is very close to the year's start. That's how I look at stuff like this: focusing on the bright side.

Pushed back until August 2019 now

Re shoots/push backs dosent always mean bad. But in this case, I think it does. From early screenings it seems like they didnt know what movie they wanted to make. Not a good sign at all.

There's now a good chance that it will be a Disney movie instead of a Fox movie by release day.

I don't see anything wrong with that.

The trailer didn't inspire me with hope for the film's quality (it put it on my "I suppose I'll catch it when it's available on something I subscribe to" list), so maybe reshoots are what's needed.

I belive I read that they are adding a whole new character as well.

They are reshooting 50% of the movie and adding Antonio Banderas as a villain. Jon Hamm was supposed to appear as Mr. Sinister, but that is gone now.

I think by the time it finally comes out, most people won't care anymore and will be waiting for the X-Men to be rebooted in the MCU.

I'll still care about the film when it's released. But then, I used to collect the comicbooks when they originally came out. I still have an ish or two lying around here somewhere.

We'll see when the movie finally gets released next summer.

spits coffee Antonio what??? He's a nice guy but the puss in boots as an Xmen villain??? lol. There's no universe where Antonio Banderas works as a villain. He was good in assassins but that was a very long time ago when he was less hammy.

He was a violent anti-hero in Desperado, waaay back in the day. My only problem with that was I couldn't swallow him violently killing people. Something about him just wouldn't let me completely accept it, 100%. I mean, those were sometimes brutal murders... but perhaps he can work as a villain who isn't offing folks.

It doesn't seem that long ago to me.
