I was very fortunate to catch this at my city's university yesterday, long after it had finished it's official theatrical run. I knew nothing about the film prior to going in, save that Bening was in it and that Cinefix had mentioned this film in their video on top camera movement techniques.
Very rarely nowadays do I get emotional while watching films, I sometimes go years without finding a film that can elicit an impact like this film did! I am absolutely baffled as to why Benning was not nominated for an Oscar for her performance in this film, it was far and away one of the best of the year, alongside Portman in Jackie and Stone in La La Land.
I also might add that this was probably the very first time in my entire life that I was actually grateful to be watching a film in the presence of a theatre full of other people! I always go to the movies alone, and prefer to wath them near the end of their runs to ensure a less populated room. However, on this occasion I must admit that it was quite a privilege to be watching a film with an audience that was perfectly in tune with the emotional intent of each particular moment; there was laughter and tears in abundance! What a beautiful experience that was, I highly recommend this film to fans of drama!

I wish I had caught this during its original run, I would've seen it more times. As it was I only got to see it for that one-off showing. Such a shame this film didn't get more attention, it was by far my favorite film of 2016 along with Moonlight and Arrival.
