Discuss The Devil's Candy

Whether anyone will see it and come here is another matter, but it is quite the film. Very artistic and atmospheric, the soundtrack/sound was excellent, Ethan Embry was excellent for the role and played it perfectly, same with Pruitt Taylor Vince(he always takes the right roles, I don't recall ever seeing him in anything but respectable genre films ). Too bad it wasn't slightly longer although it wrapped up everything , I was loving the atmosphere and wanted more.

I'm glad you posted this. I've been looking for a good horror film for such a long time. It is now on my watch list.

That film is still burrowing through my brain today, it's the loud heavy metal guitar riff in it with the voices, just creepy as hell. Definitely one to see in the dark with the sound up a bit. The writer/director(Sean Byrne's) first film** The Loved Ones(2009) **was also very, very good. Great film to see also if you haven't yet.

I just watched it. In the dark. Music up. Muscles clenched. Toes curled. Frantically clawing my way backward out of my chair (only kidding, but I wanted to). That was intense and very, very satisfying in a way horror movies haven't been for a long time.

I'm exhausted.

Okay, now I definitely need to see this!

Just watched it, and I thought it was fantastic! So many unsettling and heart-pounding moments. I actually liked it a lot more than The Loved Ones, which was the director's previous feature.

The Devil's Candy is like this year's Green Room.

Glad you liked it, wasn't sure if some people wouldn't like it because of the metal theme. Personally I loved the metal/horror combo(it just fits so well) and I'm a big fan of Pruitt Taylor Vince so the opening of him strumming that same chord really, really loud to "keep the voices out" was one of the best and most menacing horror flick openings I've seen. I hope Burne is working on something new, he has a style and vision that stands out from the rest.

The Devil's Candy is like the film that I never got, but have always been expecting from Rob Zombie ever since The Devil's Rejects.

To be honest, I don't really like metal, but I still loved the movie. I hope the metal aspect doesn't deter people from checking it out. I thought the music was incorporated into the plot really well.

I missed seeing this in theatre... I wish I had known about it earlier... I'll check it out later i suppose...
