Oh man, this whole movie is like a compendium of the most unlikable characters and cringey dialogue you could ever hope to find. I can't even fathom how they managed to make each character more annoying than the next one and you can't but help to hope that each and every single one of them gets squashed by godzilla or some other monster quickly, but unfortunately, for the most part, those hopes and dreams are never realized in this movie. The dialogue is also a real piece of work in itself. The whole movie basically goes like this: Guy A says something mostly ordinary Guy B Replies with some kind of dramatic and grandiose statement that just makes you cringe. Rinse and repeat for two hours and you got Godzilla King of the Monsters

I'm not completely through with the film yet, but I'm going to be really disappointed if the kid or someone else doesn't yell out a dramatic "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" when Godzilla or some other monster is getting hammered. At least they managed to hit that other cliche very early on in the movie where some kid or chick manages to have a really deep and meaningful relationship with some monster while everyone else is just looking completely baffled.

TO BE FAIR...KYLE CHANDLER IS KNOWN TO BRING OUT THE WORST IN HIMSELF MORE OFTEN THAN NOT.

Well, just finished watching the movie, and I have to tell you that it is a real piece of sh*t if you'll excuse my french. My favourite character, though, is the asian chick whose job on the team is to look at ancient drawings and myths and legends and draw wild deductions from them. Because why not. No team is complete without one. On the other hand I think the team could've used an i-ching oracle, a tarot card reader, a mentalist and a voodoo priest to do readings from chicken bones and coffee stains. They would've had the monster menace wrapped up lickety spit if they had a dream team like that.

Also is it just me or has this so far been a really really bad year for movies. I remember before you maybe watched one really awful movie like this per year, but this year just of the top of my head we already got Godzilla, Long shot and US, which are all equally horrible and the year is barely at the midpoint.

Just noticed that the guy who directed this POS was also the writer/screenwriter for Superman Returns (2006). Suddenly I'm not at all surprised this turned out to be as awful as it is. Superman Returns is equally awful and the story was probably the worst part of an already crappy film.

Kyle Chandler is a decent actor. If there's any problem with his performance, it's probably down to the directing.

The film was shocking.

Completely idiotic plot involving Vera Famiga's character and her hiring a military-trained group to help save the planet. She basically wanted millions to die to help regenerate the earth!

However, out of all the problems, my no.1 gripe is killing off Sally Hawkins' character rather cheaply and especially after saving the life of a main character. Nobody sheds a tear or anything asnd she's never mentioned again.

So so disappointed...

One of the worst film I've seen in years, pathetic, bad, completely dull and this story of the family in middle .... awful!
